 2nd RRI Ride

Saturday, 12th May 2007

Until late Friday afternoon, Wak was frantically and repeatedly asking the group "are we riding this weekend?   Where are we riding this weekend?"   The question that Seken finally answered "RRI, ada brani?".  Two other members - Shah & MatYen - replied positively, while others have other events already lined up.  So, the four (Seken, Wak, Shah & MatYen) came to an agreement to meet up at the usual Caltex kiosk by 0900hrs Saturday morning for this ride.  Seken also mentioned that a new rider whom had just bought a Scott Scale 40 will also be joining.

As for me, my original plan was to go to Kuala Terengganu to settle some personal business on this weekend.   But when I woke up early saturday morning, the MTBiking feeling overcame all other thoughts.  Thus I mounted the Kancil with the bike carrier, sms'd Seken that I was coming, and off I go to the RV point to arrive just before 0900hrs.  Seken, Shah, Udang & Ejau (the new rider) was already there.   Everyone was waiting for Wak whom arrived around 0915hrs.   And we showed-off our new Dueter EXP-8!    (p/s: I did go to KT, later on Saturday evening, and got back the next day...)

So, there were altogether six riders that day - Seken, Shah, Wak, Udang, Ejau & me...  However, as we were getting ready to begin our ride, a gentlemen whom earlier had borrowed Shah's pump, came over and joined us.  Henry and Iwan were welcomed as if they were already a part of our group!   At first glance, everyone thought the kid (.. sitting for his SPM exam this year) was Henry's son, but it turned out he was Henry's neighbour!

Seken, Henry & Iwan all gleaming with joy...

Henry's Commencal & Iwan's T-Bolt

Shah was our photographer that day, and he insisted to snap one of me and my AM1000... as well as his T-bolt for our album in the member's ride page.....

Wak.... finally got the hang of flying .....   and landing safely!

Once...nayy.. not enuff... so, Wak gave a go many many times.... caught on camera three times (guess Shah hoped that he would... er...er... u know... do the things he do after airborne.....  hehehehehe)

Ejau... no efforts at all in the stunt jump...

... and Henry also went for a few rounds....

.... so does Ejau...  very good for a first timer !!!!

I made only two jumps... it was awesome !

Iwan did a few rounds, and once each on Wak's Merida and my AM1000 !    He'll be pestering his dad for a Merida soon !

Ejau again.... he was talking about upgrading to a FS bike... hmm..only after one ride???

Our volunteer medic-man Shah applying his magic ointment onto Henry's shin ~ swollen fram one the many stunt jump... bitten by his pedal.... hehehehehe....

At the end of it all, we covered almost 9km with just under one hour of pedaling.  Though we finished at around noon, most of the time en-route were spent on resting, and...err...errr...waiting for me I guess.   What with my missing a turn (err.... nice DH actually... hehehehe..), a two stops for almost getting faintged.. almost aaa... not actually fainted... but I was really out of breath... the three photos somewhere above gives a clearer picture....hehehehe...

But, when this man smiles... its a sure indication that the ride was successfull!   Until next weekend guys.. !!!
